Location
The property is located in a secluded spot overlooking a tranquil bay in the southwest corner of the island. At the head of the bay, just a short walk from the residence, lies the picturesque village of Mega Livadi or Megalo Livadi. A family-friendly sandy beach lined by shady tamarisk trees separates the village from shallow, crystal clear waters. Two tavernas right on the beach remain open all year round, while the village has several interesting churches, including Aghios Ioannis Prodromos with marvellous frescos dating from the 17th century.
Description
The property comprises two residences (rented as separate) that stand alone at the edge of the bay, both of which are listed on account of their special architectural and historic interest. Recently renovated throughout, the main (lower) residence is surrounded by verandas that afford stunning sea views, while the upper residence is half built into the hillside. Both have been recently renovated throughout.
The main residence has five en suite bedrooms, a living area, dining room for eight guests, separate staff room, kitchen, cellar and shower room. One of the bedrooms, atop the flat roof, has its own spacious veranda with pergola.
The inner courtyard serves as an outdoor dining area for 12-14 guests, protected by a waterproof bamboo pergola. Another yard with trees and tables leads onto the bar area, which has a teak, monastery dining table for evening meals under the stars. Further below is a flat, tree-shaded area that is ideal for sunbathing, while a stone-paved path leads down to a small sitting area with an umbrella and a stainless steel ladder to the sea. Another footpath leads to the point of the bay, a great place to sit and watch the sunset.
