Location
The villa is located in the southwest part of Santorini in the traditional settlement of Megalochori, a delightful maze of narrow, cobblestone alleys lined with brilliant white houses and attractive marble-clad churches. Many of the residences in the village have inner courtyards surrounded by high walls, built not only for privacy but also protection against pirates. With good road access to all places of interest, along with tavernas, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, mini-markets and other shops, the settlement provides the perfect base for exploring the island.
Surrounded by sprawling vineyards, Megalochori is in the heart of wine country, making it the ideal place to experience Santorini’s rich viticultural heritage at first hand. The renowned Boutari Winery is on the outskirts of the village. Megalochori also has its own beautiful beaches that can be reached on foot, by boat, car or public transportation. There are also many footpaths in the area, some leading to beaches whilst others will take you to picturesque villages such as Pyrgos, a fortified settlement built amphitheatrically on a hill, which offers sublime panoramic views of the island.

Fully renovated in 2013, Megalochori Villa retains the classic proportions and charm of early 20th century Cycladic architecture while successfully embracing the principles of minimalist design. The result is a welcoming, traditional residence that is at the same time luxurious and contemporary. Earth tone colours blend harmoniously with minimal decorative elements, invoking in guests a sense of warmth and elegance.
The 120 m2 villa has two independent double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and separate entrance that can be closed for complete privacy. Two more guests can comfortably be accommodated on sofa beds in the spacious living room that separates the two main bedrooms. All four beds are with anatomic mattresses and pillows by Coco-Mat. Air-conditioned throughout, the villa has a well equipped kitchen with a range of modern appliances.
Guests can relax on the fully furnished patio or in the roof garden that affords a marvellous view of Megalochori. In addition to a complimentary bottle of local wine on arrival, guests are provided with all the ingredients for a delicious breakfast, such as ham, cheese, bread, fruit, marmalade, honey, butter, eggs, cereal, milk, yogurt, cake, tea, coffee and juice, which are replenished on a daily basis. Renovated with careful thought and attention to detail, Megalochori Villa offers guests total serenity and comfort.
