Location
The house is located at the southwest edge of the village of Logothetianika in the north-central part of Kythira. One of the oldest villages on the island, picturesque Logothetianika is celebrated for its traditional architecture. There are a number of interesting historical sites in the area, including Byzantine churches, the Monastery of St. Theodore and the ruins of the 12th century fortress of Paleochora.
The bustling village of Potamos, with its lively main square and a fascinating farmers’ market every Sunday, is just 1 km. away. From the house, guests can enjoy scenic hiking trails through unspoiled countryside and relax or snorkel at pristine beaches, before heading back to Logothetianika for local culinary delights at one of the friendly tavernas.

Description
The two-storey, traditional residence has been in the owner’s family for six generations. An inscription on the stone cover of the old cistern dates the house to 1789. The carefully restored 100m2 residence, standing on a plot of 3,600m2, has thick stone walls that keep it cool in summer and warm in winter. Inside, the tasteful decoration and furnishings create a homey yet stylish atmosphere. The location of the house affords gorgeous views of the timeless landscape.
On the ground floor, which features a beautiful arched ceiling, there is a fully equipped kitchen and a cosy living area with a large fireplace. There is also a small bathroom and a comfortable bedroom with double bed. From the quaint windows there is a lovely view of the garden.
A flight of stairs leads to the first floor terrace, the perfect spot to enjoy an early evening drink as the sun goes down. This spacious upper level (50 m2) has a second bedroom with double bed, as well as a bathroom/shower. The views from the terrace and bedroom are quite amazing.
The surrounding grounds, planted with grapevines, olive and fig trees, create a haven of seclusion and privacy, while the delightful garden is filled with roses, jasmine and plants native to Kythira. A large table with chairs invites guests to enjoy al fresco dining or a light lunch in the cool shade of bougainvillea.
